Catholic Center @ ETSU blog - News and views of what is going on at the Catholic Center

  Hello!

The Catholic Center @ ETSU is a ministry to the Catholic students and faculty of the          East Tennessee State University community and anyone wishing to learn about the            Roman Catholic faith.  The Center community also strives to be a positive and active          member of the larger university community.

The Catholic Center organizes its ministry and activities around the Scripture theme
  of Acts 2:42:

"The disciples devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, the common life of                  sharing, the breaking of the bread and the prayers."

We invite you to come and visit the Catholic Center!

by Michael Cummins on 05/17/12

On Sunday, May 20th, Mass will be offered at the Catholic Center at 6:00 p.m.

Below is the summer schedule for the Catholic Center:

Monday: Community of Sant'Egidio food for the poor and prayer.  We meet at the Center around 5:00 p.m. and make sandwich bags which we then take to the John Sevier Center downtown for distribution.  Following this we spend some time with our friends at the John Sevier.  We then return to the Catholic Center for prayer.  At the latest we conclude by 7:00 p.m.  All are welcome to join the group on Mondays.

Wednesday: Mass at 5:15 p.m. followed by a grill out beginning around 6:00 p.m.  The Center provides the grill, dishes and utensils.  People bring their own food and drinks.  It is a relaxed time of friendship.

Sunday: Simple, evening Mass at 6:00 p.m.  Mass will be offered at the Center every Sunday at 6:00 p.m. when Fr. Michael is available.  (Fr. Michael makes himself available to help out on weekends at parishes around the diocese.  So, some Sundays, there may not be a Mass offered at the Center.)
